Villa Finale Museum & Gardens - San Antonio



Villa Finale is an example of old architecture in the King William District. King William District is an rea of San Antonio that had many wealthy German migrated, until the flood of 1921. The families moved on, but the houses stayed. The houses were mostly forgotten until Walter Mathis helped preserved theme starting in 1967.

Briscoe Western Art Museum

Briscoe Western Art Museum opened in 2013. It is housed in San Antonio's original public library from the 1930s. It is a museum concentrating on preserving the western art, history, and culture of the American West.

The Alamo - San Antonio

The Alamo is a historic site located in Downtown San Antonio. It was founded in 1716 as a Spanish Mission. It was abandoned shortly being secularized in 1793. It became occupied by the Mexican military in the early 19th century. It was later the site of the Battle of Alamo, a battle in the Texas Revolution, occurring February 23 - March 6, 1836.

San Antonio Missions - San Antonio

The San Antonio Missions are made up of 4 former Spanish missions, an aqueduct, and a ranch. They are mostly on the South Side of San Antonio, except Rancho de las Cabras, which is located in Floresville, TX. They have one visitor center, located at Mission San Jose. They have been National Historic sites since 1978, although they were in use from the 1700s. 

Please be respectful because these are still active churches.
